Matt Karam

Training Director

Matt Karam was promoted to Training Director on March 1, 2024. He is a proud member of Laborers’ Local 157 in Schenectady, New York. Matt has been a LIUNA member since 2013 and has been an Instructor since 2022. Matt’s experience in the Heavy Highway field includes: Grade Foreman, Potable & Storm Water Lines, Sewer Mains, Tunneling, and Concrete. Matt will continue to instruct Natural Gas Installation, Water & Sewer Pipelines, Excavation Safety, Concrete, Pipe Laser, Line & Grade, and CXS courses.

Garry Ero

Assistant Training Director

Garry Ero was promoted to Assistant Training Director on March 11, 2024 and is a member of Laborers’ Local 190 in Glenmont, New York. Garry was formerly the Field Representative for Laborers’ Local 190 until his promotion to Assistant Training Director. Being a LIUNA member since 2000, Garry has experience in both Building and Heavy Highway fields, including Potable & Storm Water Lines, Sewer Mains, and Concrete.

Kriste Ryan

Office Administrator

Kriste Ryan has been the Office Administrator since 1990. She keeps data and records of all classes and members certifications.

Gary Flansburg

Senior Instructor

Gary Flansburg has been an Instructor since 2013 and is a member of Laborers’ Local 190 in Glenmont, New York. He has been a member of LIUNA since 1988. Gary’s work in the Building field includes: Asbestos, Concrete, and Pipe Work.

Corey Prentice

Instructor

Corey Prentice has been an Instructor since 2020. Corey is a member of Laborers’ Local 190 in Glenmont New York. Corey was a Mason Tender in the field. Corey currently teaches the Blueprint and Mason Tending Courses.

Anthony Crisorio

Apprenticeship Coordinator

Anthony Crisorio has been the Apprenticeship Coordinator since 2007. He is a member of Laborers’ Local 190 in Glenmont, New York. Anthony has been a member of LIUNA since 1994 and his work in the Building field includes: Power Plants and Scaffolding.

Douglas Ruso

Instructor

Douglas Ruso is currently training to become an Instructor as of 2026. Douglas is a member of Laborers’ Local 157 in Schenectady New York. Douglas was a Concrete worker in the field.
